Vertical Blinds

Opposed to horizontal blinds, vertical blinds are not as likely to gather dirt and dust since they hang vertically. Because they draw to the side instead of lifting and lowering, they operate more effectively on doorways and windows that also slide from side to side. Generally this takes less muscle strength, and are quicker to operate.

Vertical blinds are offered in flat plastic (PVC), fabric, embossed PVC, metal, wood, faux wood materials, and also S-curved slats.

Fixed vertical blinds are hung in the doorways of various homes and businesses which often leave their doors open. Movement of the blind might imply a general change in airflow, or perhaps a person entering the doorway. More frequently however, these types of vertical blinds are constructed of thick plastic. In the cold rooms of food businesses, this reduces the heat leakage into the cold room. In hotter climates, vertical blinds deter flies as well as other insects from getting into the building.
